Fundación ORDESA was created in late 2002 at the behest of Laboratorios Ordesa, which, as the Founding Entity, demonstrated its commitment to promoting its own private organisation to boost and provide economic support to improve the health and nutrition of under-privileged children from different countries all around the world.
Our commitment
This organisation's founding mission is to promote the improvement of the living, nutritional and health conditions of children, primarily pregnant women, newborns, nursing infants and children the world over in the early years of life.
To this end, Fundación Ordesa's priority objectives include awarding direct financial aid for funding and promoting programmes and projects targeting children who lack resources and/or who are affected by socioeconomic underdevelopment in order to offer them a better quality of life and dignified development as human beings during childhood.
Ordesa Aid
Every year, the entity organises the Ordesa Aid call for applications, in which financial support is awarded to different entities that apply to one of its 3 programme categories. These programmes are:
- A programme to build or rehabilitate medical, healthcare or nutritional infrastructures or facilities in developing countries, primarily for the care of pregnant women and children.
- An aid programme for children at risk of social exclusion for entities operating in Spain that work with groups of dependent or vulnerable children and teenagers.
- An aid programme in the form of products, with the donation of baby cereals for entities operating in Spain that work with vulnerable families with children.
In exceptional cases, Fundación Ordesa has also catered to requests from other vulnerable groups on account of their financial or healthcare situation, such as the elderly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
